Why I rec it:
I adore modern magical AUs with hints of reincarnation. What I love best about this particular example here is that so many things aren't spelled out - they just hang in the air, beautiful, mystical, captivating. It's set up as recovered chapters of a missing novel, which only adds to the pull the story exerts on the reader.

why I rec this: Scratch UST, replace it with wonderful, eternal longing. This fic might not have the usual happy they-get-together end, but, boy, I could have read so many thousand words more of them not being able to give in to their desires!
